A Little Bit of Everything Kinda Monday

Today was one of those days where you look back and think, “Did that all really happen in one day?” I started my morning with Jesus ... because without Him, the rest of this list wouldn’t matter one bit. His peace set the pace for everything else, and I spotted little God-sightings all day long … from open parking spots right when we needed them, to the Ace Hardware man that found me the exact size shelving pegs. 🙌

The first big thing on my list was finishing up my gifts and notes for the Rainbow Boxes for my friend Rita-Marie’s ministry. These go to women walking through some of the hardest chapters ... loss, grief, infertility ... and I’m telling you, every single note feels like it’s soaked in prayer before it even leaves my hands. Delivering them feels a little like delivering hope. 💌🌈

Then I worked in my office for a couple hours. I’m still so far behind that I think my “catch-up list” has a catch-up list. But progress is progress, right? Even Jesus didn’t do everything in one day. (And yes, that was me giving myself a little pep talk.)

After that, Kevin and I hit the road for a string of errands:

🏥 Walmart for prescriptions (and maybe a quick detour down the snack aisle, shh).

🔩 Ace Hardware for shelving pegs (God sighting: they actually had them in stock—miracle of miracles).

🧵 Hobby Lobby for plastic canvas, because sometimes you just need to create something with your hands.

📦 To Rita-Marie’s to drop off those precious Rainbow gifts and notes.

Back home, we tackled the toy shelf project we started earlier ... yes, it’s finally finished! Jackson and Whiskie “helped” by taking turns sitting on the parts we needed next. (Jackson says it’s called quality control. Whiskie says it’s called claiming it before Oakie does.)

And then came the best part of Monday nights ... Oakie, Honey, and Brandon came over for dinner! We kept it simple but delicious with grilled hot dogs and grilled corn on the cob. Oakie chatted the entire meal, Honey did laps through the living room, and Brandon pretended not to notice when Jackson kept sneaking a bit closer looking for a nibble.

Now, I’m curled up, thinking about an early bedtime, wondering what tomorrow will hold. I’ve got a feeling Jesus already has it planned out, and I just need to show up ready.

💡 Here’s your little value nugget for tonight: Sometimes the “little bit of everything” days end up being the ones where you see God’s fingerprints the clearest because He’s not just in the big events, He’s in the in-between stops, the finished projects, the laughter at dinner, and the quiet moments before bed.

—Melissa 🐾 (Jackson says the corn was almost as good as tuna. Whiskie says Oakie still owes her the good seat ... AKA the new chair.)
