This morning felt truly back to normal â and by ânormal,â I mean:
âĄď¸ Bible study done by breakfast
âĄď¸ Chaos by mid-morning
âĄď¸ Heart full by bedtime đ
I hit the ground running with my Bible study first thing â feeling grounded, focused, ready to tackle the day. But God had other plansâŚBecause right after that spiritual boost, I hit an abrupt slow down in the form of popcorn, recliner seats, and superhero drama! đŹđڏââď¸
Michael and I went to see Fantastic Four and yâall, it was so good! Michael sat all calm and cool like heâs used to being chill. Me? I was fully invested and probably asked too many questions. đ (And no, Link didnât come, but Iâm sure he wouldâve been team Invisible Woman.)
After the movie, they headed home, and a new wave of joy rolled inâŚ
Brandon, Oaklynn, and Honey Bunny showed up for dinner!
We fired up the grill and went full cookout mode:
đ Burgers
đ Hot dogs
đ˝ Corn on the cob
đ And yes, the biggest bowl of watermelon youâve ever seen.
But of course, Oakie didnât want any of that. She requested an Uncrustable⌠with the red jam, please. Only red jam will do. Donât get fancy, Granny. đ
We made sure to send Taylor a plate with one of Kevinâs best burgers and some sweet grilled corn. Because love is food in foil, right? And for here a HUGE BIG bowl of watermelon!
After dinner, Kevin and I tag-teamed the kitchen.
𧟠Dishes loaded.
đż Dishwasher humming.
đ¨ Counters wiped down.
And the house started to settle into that soft, quiet rhythm I love.
Well⌠until Jackson made it known that Oakie had been sitting on me for several hours. He gets a little possessive of his human. đąBut in true Jackson form, he worked it out with minimal sulking and eventually squeezed himself into my lap next to her.
đŹ And for the record, yes, Iâm big enough for both of them. đGod made me extra squishy on purpose, I think. Built-in hospitality seating.
Nope, I didnât get any ârealâ work done today. But my heart?
So full.
Full of giggles.
Full of grilled corn.
Full of family.
Full of Jesus.
Full of what matters.
⨠God was in the stillness of my Bible study.
⨠He was in the quiet time with Michael.
⨠He was in Oakieâs little voice requesting red jam.
⨠He was in the watermelon juice and the warm grill and the wag of Honey Bunnyâs tail.
⨠He was in every unscheduled moment.
And guess what?
Iâve got something fun to announce tomorrow!
Want a sneak peek?
đ Drop a little đ in the comments and I just might message you early. đ
Now if youâll excuse me, this granny is heading to bed early, before someone else needs to sit on me.
Love and red jam sandwiches,
~ Melissa đ

I absolutely love this
