I got home yesterday, but I was a bit tired! So today, I wanted to let you know about our travels!
Travel included loads of "fun"
10 million (give or take) cops
Several crashes (not us, thank You, Jesus)
1 epic diaper blowout
Warp-speed through Atlanta, and
Loud praise music... because JESUS carried us home!
After a sweet getaway with my granddaughter, great granddaughters and Mark, the journey home was - let's just say - a memory maker!
We kicked things off with Cracker Barrel breakfast! Man, the pancakes were delish! I got two, but I only got to eat one. You guessed it, PennyP and Gwenny enjoyed everyone's breakfast but their own! But this Granny is always ready and willing to share! Comfort food = road trip fuel!
So we had breakfast... then
one quick trip for gas
I squeezed in my online class on the road (because learning waits for no road trip)
PennyP made her very own tablet video (future filmmaker alert!)
Mark powered us through torrential rain and standing water like a champion
Gwenny had an epic diaper blowout! I mean EPIC!
We stopped for a quick Arby's Dinner!
Courtney drove us through Atlanta at Warp 10 (seriously, I'm still recovering. She would simply say, "but did you die?" ;) )
After the diaper incident, Gwenny slept like a peaceful angel in the middle of our chaos
PennyP (AKA M&M Monster) snacked her way home!
And... through it all, we cranked up the worship music and sang sour hearts out to Jesus!
Just a few things to note about our trip!
We ate way too many M&Ms
We ate way too many Hershey's Nuggets (milk chocolate of course)
We drank way too much lemonade (the raspberry lemonade was the best)
We didn't drink NEARLY enough water!
1 very upset stomach, 2 headaches, and tons of memories made!
Despite the mess, the chaos, and the sugar overload... JESUS!
He was in every mile, every giggle, every rainstorm, and every exhausted, joy-filled moment.
I'm rolling back into reality tired, sticky and a little bit over-sugared ~ but, with a full heart!
These are the messy, beautiful days that remind me how sweet life really is.
Now, excuse me while I collapse... right into the arms of my sweet husband. Wait... I meant Jackson the cat. NO, I mean KEVIN. Totally meant Kevin!
With love from the middle seat and a half empty lemonade cup,
Melissa
