Fierce Shifts & Faithful Nudges: Today at the Johnson House

Today wasn’t one of those sky-parting, angels-singing kind of days… but it was still good. Just an okay-but-blessed kind of day. You know the type... where everything sorta putters along, and somehow Jesus still shows up with a little nudge and a whole lotta grace.

🧺 I knocked out a few things around the house (yes, I’m counting that laundry I folded and halfway put away). Then I ran over to the thrift shop to drop off a load of “what was I thinking?” and “why do I still have this?” 😅

🎀 I swung by to drop off a little gift to a friend. It wasn’t much, but I’ve learned that small things wrapped in love go a long way. You just never know what someone’s carrying, and sometimes a small surprise says, “You’re seen.”

💬 I got in a good, long chat with Paw. I treasure the slow conversations, the kind where you don’t check the time.

👭 Then I had a visit with my friend Cynthia. Nothing fancy. Just two women sharing life, stories, and probably more words than we should have. But hey, that’s what soul-sisters are for.

📚 I may or may not have read a tiny bit too much of my current book ... The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. 🍽️ We had dinner tonight ... just me, Kevin, and Brandon. Nothing extravagant, but my heart sure felt full. Sometimes that’s all it takes.

🐾 Meanwhile, Jackson has entered full shadow-mode. I’m convinced he knows when I’m shifting gears. Every time I start thinking too much or stressing a little, he hops in my lap and dares me to move. 😽

And Whiskie Marie? That girl has been staring out the window like she’s on neighborhood watch duty. She takes her role very seriously ... every bird, leaf, and imaginary squirrel gets reported.

🌟 Here’s the part that really stirred my heart today ... I made a big shift in the Fall MEOW Box. The theme is still FIERCE: Feelin’ Fall & Fabulous, but whew… the direction took a sharp right turn. I’m not even sure what happened. God whispered… and I turned. I want every item in that box to point back to encouragement, strength, and walking boldly — in whatever season you're in.

So yeah… today wasn’t flashy. But it was faithful. And in this season, I’ll take Jesus, leftovers, cat cuddles, and slow miracles any day.
