Headaches! House Clothes! Cat Purrs! and a Whole lot of Jesus

Rough day here in the Johnson house… and not just because I’ve had this stubborn headache for nearly two weeks. It’s not a migraine, but it sure is persistent.

My morning started the way it always does ... three ice waters grabbed straight from the fridge (because why drink one when you can have a lineup ready? 😉). Then I got ready for the day… which, for this back-woods country girl, means comfy house clothes, teeth brushed, hair pulled out of my face, and absolutely no shoes. I settled into my favorite chair for my quiet time with Jesus, letting His Word set the tone for the day. Then I moved into my Miracle Morning, some reading and soaking in truth and encouragement.

But the headache? Still hanging around like an uninvited guest. So I caved and tested my “what if” theory ... took migraine meds and headed to bed. Within minutes, the nap patrol arrived: Jackson curled up for snuggle duty, Whiskie Marie plopped down like a queen guarding her human, and big brother Felix stretched across the end of the bed like a furry bouncer.

I woke up feeling about the same, but my heart was full. Even when the day feels heavy, God sends little love notes ... like soft fur, steady purrs, and the reminder that He’s in the details. 🐾

From there, it was several hours in the office, chipping away at my never-ending pile of “still behind” work. Kevin came home a little later than usual, but we sat down together to grilled pork steak and potatoes that were downright delicious. I may have finished off the last of Sunday’s ice cream too (because… balance).

Now I’m looking at the clock, wondering if it’s too early to call it a night. My nap might mess with my sleep, but here’s hoping it doesn’t. Some days are glamorous, some are gritty, and some are just a mix of both ... with a little Jesus, a little ice cream, and a whole lot of cat supervision to get me through. 🌟
