Hot Mess Tuesday: 🍔 Burger King, Box Blessings & a Whole Lot of Cat Fur

Whew, y’all.

Today was one of those days that came in HOT — like, literally hot. The kind where you blink and it’s already afternoon, your to-do list has taken over your desk, and you’re glistening with sweat just from existing. 😅

But you know what? It started with a win:

🙌 I’m completely caught up on all my Bible studies — even the online ones!My heart feels full, my brain feels a little toasted, but hey, that’s what holy progress looks like sometimes.

Then it was off to Lafayette to pick up my middle son, Brandon —the first of my boys to make me a "girl mom." He married Taylor, all five-foot-something of her sweet self, with long dark hair and about 125 pounds of joy. She officially joined our family in November of 2019 — and my heart’s been fuller ever since. 💕 Later on, Brandon and Taylor made me Granny to our little Oakie, and if that doesn’t make your heart melt, I don’t know what will. 💗

Brandon dropped his truck off for repairs, so we grabbed lunch at Burger King (nothing fancy, but those fries were blessed 🍟), and now I’m officially carless for a bit. Honestly? I don’t mind. Sometimes Jesus slows us down on purpose.

Once I got home, I settled into some quiet, prayerful time while building a Comfort MEOW Box — the kind of slow work that feels sacred, even when surrounded by clutter. After that, I did a little MEOW Box shopping (okay… maybe a lot 🛍️) for three Encouragement Boxes and one Bundle of Joy Box that’s already giving me all the happy feels. 🎁

Then, Kevin made dinner — grilled chicken tenders and a grilled veggie mix! 🍽️

We even had a little pop-in visit from some friends — one of those simple surprises that reminds you you’re seen and loved.

Now I’m back in my office…Jackson is glued to my lap like I was gone for three weeks instead of three hours. 🐱 Whiskie is playing her usual game of “what can I knock off next?” while pretending she’s helping. 😼

I’m sweaty. I’m tired. I forgot my medicine (again), and Kevin gave up his lunch break to go get it for me — bless him. 💗But I’m here. And so is Jesus.

✨ Not waiting until my house is tidy.

✨ Not waiting until my heart is sorted.

✨ Not waiting until my to-do list is done.

Just here.In the sweat. In the stacks. In the sticky notes and snack wrappers.

And He’s with you too.
