Y’all… I had plans today.
Big ones.Color-coded to-do list. Motivational music ready. Water bottle filled (for the first hour, anyway).I woke up thinking, “This is the day I get caught up on ALL THE THINGS.”
Spoiler alert: I did not. 😅
What actually happened?
🐱 Jackson decided the laundry basket was his new throne. He curled up like royalty and dared me to move a single sock.
😼 Whiskie pounced on a shadow and then ran full-speed across the house like the Holy Ghost was chasing her.
🍫 I ate too many Hershey’s nuggets. Again.
💧 I drank… not enough water. Again.
🍬 There may or may not be a trail of M&Ms leading from the couch to my planner. I plead the Fifth.
I folded two towels, started three different tasks, and finished none.
I attempted to organize a drawer and somehow created three new junk piles. 🙃
And still… somehow, it was good.
Because in the middle of it all — the snacks, the cat fur, the “what was I just doing?” moments — I felt that little whisper in my spirit:
✨ “This day doesn’t have to be perfect to be precious.”
So instead of feeling behind, I chose to feel present.
I lit a candle.Put my feet up.Let Jackson curl up beside me (after I bribed him off the planner with a treat).Let Whiskie knock a pen off the table for the fifth time… because hey, she’s living her best life. 😂
If your Saturday isn’t going the way you thought it would — you’re not alone. Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is slow down, laugh, and remember that Jesus meets us right here. In the undone. In the in-between. In the snack breaks and snuggly moments.
And let’s be honest — the world will wait.Jackson, however, will not. 🐾
Still snacking, still sacred,
—Melissa 💗
